Euclid Manor

A co-living community

Adams Point · Oakland, California

Euclid von Imaginal Manor crest

I co-founded this community and lived in it for 10.5 years.

Euclid Manor's community has evolved over the years, but we have always lived together with a generosity of spirit, sharing , and experimenting with how our home can be a platform for loving each other, ourselves, and the world.

We have always oriented ourselves towards social impact. We have always been a social hub for events and guests. We have always been silly and playful. We have always been the place that welcomes the caterpillar... the chrysalis where imaginal cells cluster together to build the future that no one else thinks is possible. And when we leave Euclid Manor, we fly. 🦋

The House

A 13-bedroom mansion, built in 1910, a block north of Lake Merritt in the Adams Point neighborhood of Oakland.

Thirteen bedrooms
A piano
Three fireplaces
2.5 kitchens
Two washers,
two dryers
A detached carriage house
A basement
Solar panels
A bike shed
…and definitely
no ghosts

How the house works

The food program
We each contribute $250 a month for local, organic, ethically-sourced food. We have big house dinners every Sunday and Wednesday.
Activities
House meetings every three weeks, big retreats every year or so, and fun house activities or events all the time.
The residents
Periodically we hold interviews to select new residents. We celebrate diversity across race, gender, sexuality, ability, lifestyle, and age.

Moving out

I moved out of Euclid Manor in December 2025, but not without an epic going away party...
